Position Summary

Responsible for planning, coordinating, monitoring, implementing, and operating complex HR Technology Programs and Applications to meet organizational goals. Oversees and provides guidance to the staff responsible for the department’s projects. Supervises activities of a small department, major projects, and several smaller projects. Manages project management tools within the department. Makes decisions on personnel actions (hiring, terminations, promotions). Assists department Director in controlling expenses within department, monitoring spend against budget goals and objectives. Provides input to policy level direction regarding HR Technology standards.

Tasks

  • Manage the operation, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of information technology applications.
  • Work with stakeholders, including with business analyst resources, to define business and system requirements for existing and new implementations.
  • Collaborate with analysts, technical staff, and functional/process owners across all phases of the System Development Life Cycle and Project Management standards.
  • Plan, monitor, and execute smaller-scale projects according to timeline and budget. Plan and monitor larger-scale projects, in collaboration with dedicated project manager.
  • Establish productive relationships with customer groups and vendors. Responsible for assisting Director with customer satisfaction, vendor contracts and associated invoices, quality control, problem management and resolution associated with applications across the HR Technology landscape within the firm.
  • Determine staffing requirements and supervise the work of all direct reports to ensure effective and efficient departmental functions. Serve as resource, primary advisor, and mentor for all direct reports.
  • Hire, orient, train, conduct performance evaluations, handle disciplinary issues, and provide an open and goal-oriented work environment, including establishing clear and concise work procedures and productivity standards.
  • Develop personnel by providing opportunities and training programs to enhance individual employee’s career development.
  • Ensure full staff competency of technologies, policies, and practices across the firm.
  • Manage activities of contractors.
  • Develop performance improvement initiatives aimed at improving customer service, operating costs, departmental functions/departmental productivity.
  • Develop and execute effective control process and compliance monitoring procedures to ensure risks are measured, monitored, controlled, and mitigated.
  • Represent the department at various meetings, task force groups, quality councils, and with other members of the firm.
  • Develop, establish, and implement departmental goals and objectives for the firm, in collaboration with departmental and firm leadership.
  • Provide Information Services and Technology guidance and assistance to customer base and ensure process/policies are maintained in accordance with established firm standards.
  • Participate in change management responsibilities.

  • Project Management – Ability to organize and lead projects.

 

Experience and Education

Basic Qualifications:

 

Education – Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Experience – Minimum of 5 years supporting one of the following areas, or equivalent:

  • Information Systems
  • Human Resources Information Systems
  • Human Resources

 

Experience – Minimum of 2 years of people management experience with subordinate staff in one of the following areas, or equivalent:

  • Information Systems
  • Human Resources Information Systems
  • Human Resources

 

 

Other Qualifications:

 

Education – Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Human Resources preferred

 

Experience – Experience with any of the following is a plus:
