  THE FOCUS IS YOU:    We are looking to add an Audit Principal to help lead and facilitate both firm and client growth at the highest level, while showcasing the entrepreneurial spirit to maintain existing and establish new client relationships. The Principal is a firm leader who has mastered the skills and requirements of the manager role and has demonstrated a capacity to take on greater responsibilities.  The Principal may either be a subject matter expert or client service expert. The Principal assists the partner(s) in assuming overall responsibilities in a variety of areas, including: engagement management & client service, practice development, discipline & industry expertise, external activities & networking, leadership, and people development.   THE FOCUS IS YOU:    We are looking to add a Tax Manager to help guide and oversee our clients, in addition to support our internal leaders and the on-going growth in our Midwest region.    As a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and reviewing financial information for clients, such as business and individual tax returns, with the benefit of gaining exposure to a diverse client base operating in a variety of industries.  The Tax Manager serves to manage client relationships and act as a liaison between overseeing/mentoring internal staff and working closely with internal leaders, to ensure high-quality work is conducted and delivered to our clients.   WHAT YOU WILL DO Regular duties include (but are not limited to): - Review tax returns for partnerships, corporations, and individuals - Handle special projects including tax audits, transaction structuring, and implementation of tax planning strategies - Facilitate advanced tax research, resolve complex tax issues - Review tax work from staff and provide feedback, training, and mentoring - Lead and manage multiple tax engagements from start to finish ensuring they are completed within budget and timeline - Build, manage, and maintain lasting relationships with clients - Develop, motivate, and train staff – act as a mentor and a role model - Demonstrate advanced tax technical knowledge necessary for advising clients and developing an area of expertise - Participate in firm’s marketing, recruiting, team-building, and similar efforts - Develop outside relationships with a goal of generating referral sources - Adhere to firm’s policies and procedures   WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR   Experience - 5+ years in relevant position - Public accounting or other professional services environment preferred Education - Minimum Bachelor’s degree or other recognized business credential - Bachelor’s in Accounting (for Audit or Tax) License / Certification - Must be a CPA for Audit, Tax Accounting; Respective similar certification for IT audit, consulting - Must maintain required CPE credits annually - May need other industry or specialization certification for specific positions Legal / Compliance - Must complete acknowledgement of Independence Guidelines and Ethical Standards document - Government engagements require ability to obtain a security clearance from the United States government   WHO WE ARE   READY TO DELIVER We take pride in our ability to combine local knowledge with national, regional, and international skills to provide you and your organization with the best resources possible. A Senior Accountant is newly in a position of advanced technical aptitude and supervisory responsibilities.  A Senior must be able to handle more complex assignments than the staff, begin to learn the complete process of managing all tasks regarding client work, and take a lead role in developing/reviewing the work of less experienced staff.  The Senior role is the bridge between the staff, who are executing the client-service related tasks, and the management, who are strategizing and overseeing successful completion of efficient engagement activity and top quality client service.  The Senior needs to be the liaison to management, and therefore needs to develop a broader scope of the business into a supervisory role.  During this time, the Senior is expected to develop confidence with his/her role, to become fully acclimated to a supervisory position, where he/she may be in charge of the day-to-day activity on multiple engagements and/or supervising multiple team members.  The Senior increasingly needs to be able to perform the most complex technical tasks of the engagement and work more and more with less supervision.  Finally, to adequately prepare for manager responsibilities, the Senior needs to explore opportunities amongst various industries over time and then narrow down their industry focus.
