Monitoring - Assist with remediation of PCAOB inspection comments, including assessment of root causes of comments, determining the remediation steps required, implementing changes in quality control, and performing a post-implementation effectiveness assessment of the remediation steps taken to be provided to the PCAOB. - Designing and operate monitoring controls to assess the effectiveness of our system of quality management. - Create documentation and workpapers to record the monitoring of controls and assist those ultimately charged with the responsibility for the system to quality management to determine if the system of quality management is functioning properly. Root Cause Analysis - Perform root cause analysis of identified deficiencies, establish, or revise controls as necessary, implement the necessary changes, and document the process. Evaluate, Develop, and Implement new Audit Software, Tools, and Technology - Lead the National Office team to evaluate the sufficiency of audit software, tools and technology used in our attest practice. Work with cross-functional teams to assess current software needs of the attest practice, identify software solutions, evaluate the viability of solutions, and lead the implementation of new software, including developing practice aids, workpaper templates, and training to support new data analytics software, data validation software, and AI powered audit tools.   WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR   Experience - At least 4 to 7 years of progressive audit or advisory experience in a medium-to-large public accounting firm. Experience with the auditing standards of US GAAS and PCAOB is required. Experience with independence standards is beneficial. - Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred. - Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills including proficiency in US GAAP, GAAS, and PCAOB (Public Company Accounting Oversight Board) rules and standards. A Senior Accountant is newly in a position of advanced technical aptitude and supervisory responsibilities.  A Senior must be able to handle more complex assignments than the staff, begin to learn the complete process of managing all tasks regarding client work, and take a lead role in developing/reviewing the work of less experienced staff.  The Senior role is the bridge between the staff, who are executing the client-service related tasks, and the management, who are strategizing and overseeing successful completion of efficient engagement activity and top quality client service.  The Senior needs to be the liaison to management, and therefore needs to develop a broader scope of the business into a supervisory role.  During this time, the Senior is expected to develop confidence with his/her role, to become fully acclimated to a supervisory position, where he/she may be in charge of the day-to-day activity on multiple engagements and/or supervising multiple team members.  The Senior increasingly needs to be able to perform the most complex technical tasks of the engagement and work more and more with less supervision.  Finally, to adequately prepare for manager responsibilities, the Senior needs to explore opportunities amongst various industries over time and then narrow down their industry focus.

  THE FOCUS IS YOU:    We are looking to add a Tax Principal to help lead and facilitate both firm and client growth at the highest level, while showcasing the entrepreneurial spirit to maintain existing and establish new client relationships. The Principal is a firm leader who has mastered the skills and requirements of the manager role and has demonstrated a capacity to take on greater responsibilities.  The Principal may either be a subject matter expert or client service expert. The Principal assists the partner(s) in assuming overall responsibilities in a variety of areas, including: engagement management & client service, practice development, discipline & industry expertise, external activities & networking, leadership, and people development.   WHAT YOU WILL DO Regular duties include (but are not limited to): - Review tax returns for partnerships, corporations, and individuals - Handle special projects including tax audits, transaction structuring, and implementation of tax planning strategies - Facilitate advanced tax research, resolve complex tax issues - Review tax work from staff and provide feedback, training, and mentoring - Lead and manage multiple tax engagements from start to finish ensuring they are completed within budget and timeline - Build, manage, and maintain lasting relationships with clients - Develop, motivate, and train staff – act as a mentor and a role model - Demonstrate advanced tax technical knowledge necessary for advising clients and developing an area of expertise - Participate in firm’s marketing, recruiting, team-building, and similar efforts - Develop outside relationships with a goal of generating referral sources - Adhere to firm’s policies and procedures   WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR   Experience - 9+ years in accounting - Public accounting preferred Education - Minimum Bachelor’s degree: - Bachelor’s in Accounting for Audit or Tax - Related Business Degree for Consulting License / Certification - Must be a CPA for Audit, Tax Accounting; Respective similar certification for consulting - Must maintain required CPE credits annually - May possibly have other industry or specialization certification Legal / Compliance - Must complete acknowledgement of Independence Guidelines and Ethical Standards document - Government engagements require ability to obtain a security clearance from the United States government   WHO WE ARE   READY TO DELIVER We take pride in our ability to combine local knowledge with national, regional, and international skills to provide you and your organization with the best resources possible.
