The Principal is a firm leader who has mastered the skills and requirements of the manager role and has demonstrated a capacity to take on greater responsibilities. The Principal may either be a subject matter expert or client service expert. The Principal assists the partner(s) in assuming overall responsibilities in a variety of areas, including: engagement management & client service, practice development, discipline & industry expertise, external activities & networking, leadership, and people development.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Regular duties include (but are not limited to):
- Review tax returns for partnerships, corporations, and individuals
- Review federal, state and local tax returns, extensions, and quarterly projections for various clients (C-Corp, S-Corp, Partnership, Individual)
- Handle special projects including tax audits, transaction structuring, and implementation of tax planning strategies
- Facilitate advanced tax research, resolve complex tax issues
- Review tax work from staff and provide feedback, training, and mentoring
- Lead and manage multiple tax engagements from start to finish ensuring they are completed within budget and timeline
- Build, manage, and maintain lasting relationships with clients
- Develop, motivate, and train staff – act as a mentor and a role model
- Demonstrate advanced tax technical knowledge necessary for advising clients and developing an area of expertise
- Participate in firm’s marketing, recruiting, team-building, and similar efforts
- Develop outside relationships with a goal of generating referral sources

THE FOCUS IS YOU:
Our Valuation Group is growing. We are seeking to fill a Senior Analyst or Associate position within the UHY’s Valuations Group. Responsibilities will include providing fair value review on transactions and ongoing valuation items, including purchase price allocations, equity allocation, and contingent value instruments in addition to valuation services for clients and attorneys across a wide array of engagements.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
Regular duties include (but are not limited to):
- Financial analysis of client operations for the purpose of technical valuation matters

Education

The role of an audit department coordinator is one that requires a great deal of organization, strong communication skills and attention to detail. They are responsible for coordinating various aspects of the audit practice, including scheduling internal and outsourced staff and coordinating and facilitating department activities and training.
The Audit coordinator will work to support the audit department head in facilitating and leading the growth of the various offices in the Midwest region. A strong knowledge of the audit process and team environment is preferred to properly facilitate scheduling needs across the region. The Audit coordinator must have the ability to pivot and prioritize requests in a fast-paced environment. This often means juggling competing demands from different stakeholders and keeping everyone informed about progress on their respective projects.

THE FOCUS IS YOU:
The Vice President is responsible for oversight of transaction execution and will serve as the primary project leader and supervisor of Associates / Analysts on project teams. This individual is recognized by clients as a key member of the team and will take the lead on execution and marketing of M&A and financing mandates having direct client responsibility and interaction.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Regular duties include (but are not limited to):
- Work directly with Directors and Managing Directors in all facets of business, including marketing, transaction evaluation, and transaction processing
- Develop presentations and offering memoranda for M&A transactions, private financings, restructurings, and other projects
- Take a leadership role in transaction execution, including due diligence, serving as a primary point of contact for clients/counterparties, and negotiating transaction agreements
- Direct and manage a wide variety of quantitative analyses, including DCF, LBO, comparable transaction and guideline company analysis
- Monitor relevant transactions, capital market trends, company financial statements, industry, regulatory, and other economic information
- Ensure the quality of client deliverables by having a strong attention to detail
- Mentor and develop staff (Analysts / Associates)
- Utilize relationships developed to source new business opportunities from both existing and target clients
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Experience
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience in investment banking, private equity, or transaction services
- Demonstrable M&A or restructuring execution experience
- Experience managing the day-to-day aspects of client relationships and projects
- Outstanding quantitative and qualitative analytical skills; strong knowledge of finance and accounting
- Superior written and oral communication skills
- Maintain high standards of professionalism and ethical conduct
Education
- This position requires a B.A. / B.S. degree in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics or similar concentration
- Any post-graduate education is a plus as well as FINRA licenses, CFA charters, and other industry-specific designations

The Experienced Manager will play a key role in working with the Managing Directors to grow and operate all facets of the Business Valuation Services Practice (the “Practice”) for the Houston Region.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Regular duties include (but are not limited to):
Account Management and Operational Excellence
- Exemplify industry best practices in client service, relationship management, and day-to-day quality and risk management of running the Practice
- Being technically strong in a wide range of business valuations (e.g., financial reporting, tax, potential transactions, etc.) is a must
- Responsible for coordinating all aspects of an assignment – signup, execution, client communications, and timing wrap-up
- Prior track record of managing multiple engagements
Leadership and Teamwork

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Experience
- 4 to 6+ years of experience in core business valuation services is required
- Prior experience working at a Big 4 or Top 10 accounting advisory firm is preferred
- Working experience with Capital IQ, Bloomberg, and other market research
- Experience in complex instruments, debt securities, and Monte Carlo Simulation is a plus
- A concentration within a particular industry sector is a plus
- Other experience a plus: Complex Securities, Real Property and/or Personal Property
Education
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree
- Field of study in business administration, finance, economics, or accounting is preferred yet not required as other quantitative fields of study could be relevant such as mathematics, statistics, engineering, etc.
- An MBA is not required but a plus
License / Certification
- Business valuation credentials (e.g., ASA, ABV, CVA, RICS, CEIV, etc.) or progress to obtaining is a must
- CFA or progress to obtaining is a plus
