THE FOCUS IS YOU:    We are looking to add a Tax Principal to help lead and facilitate both firm and client growth at the highest level, while showcasing the entrepreneurial spirit to maintain existing and establish new client relationships. The Principal is a firm leader who has mastered the skills and requirements of the manager role and has demonstrated a capacity to take on greater responsibilities.  The Principal may either be a subject matter expert or client service expert. The Principal assists the partner(s) in assuming overall responsibilities in a variety of areas, including: engagement management & client service, practice development, discipline & industry expertise, external activities & networking, leadership, and people development.   WHAT YOU WILL DO Regular duties include (but are not limited to): - Review tax returns for partnerships, corporations, and individuals - Handle special projects including tax audits, transaction structuring, and implementation of tax planning strategies - Facilitate advanced tax research, resolve complex tax issues - Review tax work from staff and provide feedback, training, and mentoring - Lead and manage multiple tax engagements from start to finish ensuring they are completed within budget and timeline - Build, manage, and maintain lasting relationships with clients - Develop, motivate, and train staff – act as a mentor and a role model - Demonstrate advanced tax technical knowledge necessary for advising clients and developing an area of expertise - Participate in firm’s marketing, recruiting, team-building, and similar efforts - Develop outside relationships with a goal of generating referral sources - Adhere to firm’s policies and procedures   WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR   Experience - 9+ years in accounting - Public accounting preferred Education - Minimum Bachelor’s degree: - Bachelor’s in Accounting for Audit or Tax - Related Business Degree for Consulting License / Certification - Must be a CPA for Audit, Tax Accounting; Respective similar certification for consulting - Must maintain required CPE credits annually - May possibly have other industry or specialization certification Legal / Compliance - Must complete acknowledgement of Independence Guidelines and Ethical Standards document - Government engagements require ability to obtain a security clearance from the United States government   WHO WE ARE   READY TO DELIVER We take pride in our ability to combine local knowledge with national, regional, and international skills to provide you and your organization with the best resources possible. Are You Ready to Take Control of Your Career Path?   We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced and motivated Tax Senior to join our firm in the Estate, Gift, and Trust Group.   Our Estate, Gift, & Trust Tax Senior is newly in a position of advanced technical aptitude and supervisory responsibilities.  A Senior must be able to handle more complex assignments than the staff, begin to learn the complete process of managing all tasks regarding client work, and take a lead role in developing/reviewing the work of less experienced staff.  The Senior role is the bridge between the staff, who are executing the client-service related tasks, and the management, who are strategizing and overseeing successful completion of efficient engagement activity and top quality client service.    

  THE FOCUS IS YOU:  We are looking for a Tax Staff Accountant in the Estate, Gift, and Trust Practice in the Great Lakes Region. The Estate, Gift and Trust Staff will work closely with senior staff to focus on trust, estate, gift, private foundation, and personal tax compliance for clients.  The Staff will simultaneously conduct multiple engagements while maintaining contact with clients.  The Staff will display technical and communication skills, and judgement essential for dealing with clients. WHAT YOU WILL DO Regular duties include (but are not limited to): - Proactively demonstrates a willingness to learn and attain greater knowledge on a continual basis; looks to build technical skill base - Grasps concepts quickly and demonstrates knowledge of basic technical skills, as well as related knowledge of necessary systems and procedures - Makes well-thought-out decisions and considers all facts prior to making final conclusions - Asks appropriate questions and requests supervision when in need of assistance - Follow regulations and professional ethics standards bodies appropriate to discipline including AICPA. - Keep current on all professional pronouncements. - Develops proficiency in use of all technology necessary to performance execution - Understands basics of client systems environment in context of any client project. - Maintains designated chargeable hours for the year (determined by Geography & Discipline leaders) - Ensures quality control procedures are being executed under direction of engagement supervisor - Maintains positive client relationships - Responds timely and accurately to internal team and client requests - Demonstrates willingness to understand how to work within budgetary parameters - Appropriately communicates difficult situations encountered on engagements to supervisor  - Performs thorough self-review of all work prior to submission to supervisor   WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR   Experience - 0-1 year in relevant position - Public accounting or other professional services environment preferred Education - Minimum Bachelor’s degree License / Certification - Actively working toward passing the CPA Exam, or relevant certification for respective discipline as soon as possible, if certification is not already attained  - Must maintain required CPE credits annually  Legal / Compliance - Must complete acknowledgement of Independence Guidelines and Ethical Standards document - Governmental engagements require ability to obtain a security clearance from the United States government   WHO WE ARE   READY TO DELIVER We take pride in our ability to combine local knowledge with national, regional, and international skills to provide you and your organization with the best resources possible.
