We are looking to add an Audit Senior Manager to help guide and oversee our clients, in addition to supporting our internal leaders and the on-going growth in our Great Lakes Region.
As an Audit Senior Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and reviewing the necessary procedures involved in planning and executing attestation engagements for clients in accordance with the applicable accounting standards. The Audit Senior Manager serves to manage client engagements, maintain client relationships, and act as a liaison between overseeing/mentoring internal staff and working closely with internal leaders, to ensure high-quality work is conducted and delivered to our clients.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Regular duties include (but are not limited to):
- Perform and assist with audits, reviews and compilations for clients in various industries
- Oversee and review financial statements and evaluate internal controls
- Assist with the coordination of the day-to-day duties of planning, fieldwork and wrap-up
- Deep understanding of accounting and reporting standards
- Develop reasonable time budgets and coordinate audit requests to meet time constraints and client deadlines
- Interact with clients to help ensure the information flow from the client to the audit team is efficient
- Communicate with Client, Management, and Managing Director on work status and client issues that arise

Experience
- 8+ years in accounting
- Public accounting preferred
Education
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree:
- Bachelor’s in Accounting for Audit or Tax
- Related Business Degree for Consulting

- Must maintain required CPE credits annually

Those at the Senior Staff level have built a fundamental knowledge base of technical skills and are continually expanding this knowledge to more advanced skills. Additionally, Senior Staff are continually taking on greater responsibilities as they should be developing the skills necessary to take on the Senior role – in essence, they can be considered “seniors-in-training.” Senior Staff should be able to perform tasks with little supervision. They are available to assist Seniors in mentoring entry level staff, interns and paraprofessionals.
The Enterprise Group provides service with a focus of putting the client first and satisfying total client needs. Professionals will be involved in providing service in three ways:
- Attestation services (audit, reviews, and compilations) on financial statements while providing value added services to clients relating to internal controls and operating efficiencies.
- Tax services required to solve today’s complex tax issues facing closely held businesses. Professionals will be involved in the development and implementation of tax plans with consideration of domestic and international tax matters involving income, excise, and estate and gift taxes.
- Consulting services are tailored to specific client needs which can include valuation and negotiation for merger and acquisition transactions, preparation of financial projections for additional capital needs, and job costing and profitability studies for company turn around.
We are interested in enthusiastic individuals that put an emphasis on client service. Successful candidates should also possess the desire to constantly learn, work together with a team, and maintain positive client relationships.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

- Advise external and internal clients on the federal income tax consequences of the full spectrum of corporate and shareholder transactions including mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, formations, liquidations, distributions, redemptions, and reorganizations, with particular emphasis on consolidated return regulations
- Research and analyze corporate and consolidated return tax issues in connection with the preparation, review, and delivery of written tax advice such as technical memoranda, tax opinion letters, and private letter ruling requests
- Collaborate with leadership on the development and implementation of best practices and tools that provide for the continuous improvement of the National Tax Group
- Research, generate, and sensitize scenarios to determine hypothetical net proceeds analysis for shareholders in M&A transactions
- Verify, inquire, analyze, and report on the tax status, considerations, and filings of target entities for financial due-diligence engagements
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Experience
- A minimum of five years of experience in federal corporate tax and consolidated return group experience in a Big 4 or middle-market accounting firm including extensive experience with section 382 ownership change quantitative analysis; computations of tax basis in consolidated subsidiary stock knowledge preferred
- Deep knowledge of the F-reorganization process, subchapter C, bankruptcy and insolvency taxation, and consolidated return regulations
- Consult issues related to complex partnership structures (F-reorganizations, Umbrella Partnership C Corporation ("Up C") offerings, tax equity partnership structures including hypothetical liquidation at book value (HLBV) calculations, partnership recapitalizations and partnership mergers)

- Perform and assist with audits, reviews and compilations for clients in various industries
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and evaluate internal controls

Position Summary
Responsible for planning, coordinating, monitoring, implementing, and operating complex HR Technology Programs and Applications to meet organizational goals. Oversees and provides guidance to the staff responsible for the department’s projects. Supervises activities of a small department, major projects, and several smaller projects. Manages project management tools within the department. Makes decisions on personnel actions (hiring, terminations, promotions). Assists department Director in controlling expenses within department, monitoring spend against budget goals and objectives. Provides input to policy level direction regarding HR Technology standards.
Tasks
- Manage the operation, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of information technology applications.
- Work with stakeholders, including with business analyst resources, to define business and system requirements for existing and new implementations.
- Collaborate with analysts, technical staff, and functional/process owners across all phases of the System Development Life Cycle and Project Management standards.

- Establish productive relationships with customer groups and vendors. - Determine staffing requirements and supervise the work of all direct reports to ensure effective and efficient departmental functions. Serve as resource, primary advisor, and mentor for all direct reports.
- Hire, orient, train, conduct performance evaluations, handle disciplinary issues, and provide an open and goal-oriented work environment, including establishing clear and concise work procedures and productivity standards.
- Develop personnel by providing opportunities and training programs to enhance individual employee’s career development.
- Ensure full staff competency of technologies, policies, and practices across the firm.
- Manage activities of contractors.

The candidate will work predominantly on SOX 404(a) clients, and will have exposure to consulting and internal audit clients. The ideal candidate is detailed oriented, has experience supervising others, and is comfortable and thrives in a dynamic environment.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Regular duties include (but are not limited to):
- Develop and own strong relationships with clients and other stakeholders to meet all their accounting and financial reporting needs
- Liaise with client management, external auditors, and internal UHY teams
- Evaluate the design and operating effectives of internal controls over financial reporting
- Identify GAPS in internal controls and assist in developing controls to mitigate risks
- Assist in the design of audit plans, and preparation and review of testing work papers
- Participate in mentoring, training, recruiting, retention and team-building activities
- Supervise and train team members
- Network with industry professionals
- Regional and local travel to client locations
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Experience
- 3+ years of experience in public accounting or combination with private industry
- Big 4 experience a plus
- Experience with planning and execution of Audit plans
- Knowledge of US GAAP, PCAOB audit standards, COSO Framework, and SEC reporting while keeping current on all professional pronouncements
- Ability to problem-solve and think quickly, creatively, and logically to respond to client inquiries in a timely manner
- Ability to effectively organize, prioritize and manage multiple engagements
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel
- Experience using analytical software
- Effective time management
- Ability to track progress and deliverables on multiple clients.
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting required
License/Certification

As a Tax Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for the preparation of financial information for our clients, such as business and individual tax returns, with the benefit of gaining exposure to a diverse client base operating in a variety of industries. - Prepare tax returns for partnerships, corporations, and individuals
- Prepare federal, state and local tax returns, extensions, and quarterly projections for various clients (C-Corp, S-Corp, Partnership, Individual)
- Handle special projects including tax audits, transaction structuring, and implementation of tax planning strategies
- Facilitate advanced tax research, resolve complex tax issues
- Lead and manage multiple tax engagements from start to finish ensuring they are completed within budget and timeline
- Build, manage, and maintain lasting relationships with clients
- Demonstrate advanced tax technical knowledge necessary for advising clients and developing an area of expertise
- Participate in firm’s marketing, recruiting, team-building, and similar efforts
- Develop outside relationships with a goal of generating referral sources
- Adhere to firm’s policies and procedures

We are looking to add an Audit Manager to help guide and oversee our clients, in addition to supporting our internal leaders and the on-going growth in our Northeast Region.
As an Audit Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and reviewing the necessary procedures involved in planning and executing attestation engagements for clients in accordance with the applicable accounting standards. The Audit Manager serves to manage client engagements, maintain client relationships, and act as a liaison between overseeing/mentoring internal staff and working closely with internal leaders, to ensure high-quality work is conducted and delivered to our clients.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Regular duties include (but are not limited to):
- Perform and assist with audits, reviews and compilations for clients in various industries
- Oversee and review financial statements and evaluate internal controls
- Assist with the coordination of the day-to-day duties of planning, fieldwork and wrap-up
- Deep understanding of accounting and reporting standards
- Develop reasonable time budgets and coordinate audit requests to meet time constraints and client deadlines
- Interact with clients to help ensure the information flow from the client to the audit team is efficient
- Communicate with Client, Management, and Managing Director on work status and client issues that arise
