  THE FOCUS IS YOU:    We are looking to add an Audit Senior to help lead and guide our clients, in addition to supporting our internal leaders with the on-going growth in our Northeast Region.   THE FOCUS IS YOU:  A Senior Accountant is newly in a position of advanced technical aptitude and supervisory responsibilities.  A Senior must be able to handle more complex assignments than the staff, begin to learn the complete process of managing all tasks regarding client work, and take a lead role in developing/reviewing the work of less experienced staff.  The Senior role is the bridge between the staff, who are executing the client-service related tasks, and the management, who are strategizing and overseeing successful completion of efficient engagement activity and top-quality client service.  The Senior needs to be the liaison to management, and therefore needs to develop a broader scope of the business into a supervisory role.  During this time, the Senior is expected to develop confidence with his/her role, to become fully acclimated to a supervisory position, where he/she may be in charge of the day-to-day activity on multiple engagements and/or supervising multiple team members.  The Senior increasingly needs to be able to perform the most complex technical tasks of the engagement and work more and more with less supervision.  Finally, to adequately prepare for manager responsibilities, the Senior needs to explore opportunities amongst various industries over time and then narrow down their industry focus.     UHY is seeking a strategic leader to fill the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO).  A forward-thinking individual is critical in this role to lead and direct the firm’s financial processes and actions while assisting the firm’s executive leadership team in achieving its growth goals. This individual must possess a record of demonstrated success in building and managing a high-performance finance function, with proven experience attracting, developing, and retaining highly effective teams to meet the demands of our fast-growing business.   This position will report to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and serve as a strategic business partner to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the executive leadership team, and the Board of Directors. WHAT YOU WILL DO - Assess organizational financial performance and keep stakeholders abreast of any changes to budgets and/or forecasts. - Develop tools (e.g., dashboards) and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the CEO/COO and regional leaders, while driving best practices. - Accountable to provide continuous improvement of firm’s ERP system to increase the adoption, function, and system processes. - Assess cash flow and monitor the firm’s finance and accounting departments. - Ensure the maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures. - Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and usefulness of financial and management reporting to the CEO/COO and executive leadership team. - Ensure GAAP, legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions. - Represent the firm to external business partners including financial institutions and auditors. - Manage the short and long-term strategic financial objectives of the firm supporting the executive leadership team with vital financial information and operational analytics. - Drive a culture of accountability within the finance and accounting teams.   WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR - Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business administration. - MBA or CPA is required. - At least 15 years’ experience in progressively responsible financial leadership roles. - Previous CFO experience in public accounting or other professional services firm desired.   WHO WE ARE The National Finance Office is the internal accounting and shared service team supporting the firm and its approximately 1,500 employees.   THE FOCUS IS YOU:    We are looking to add an Audit Manager to help guide and oversee our clients, in addition to supporting our internal leaders and the on-going growth in our Ann Arbor Office & Great Lakes Region. As an Audit Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and reviewing the necessary procedures involved in planning and executing attestation engagements for clients in accordance with the applicable accounting standards.  The Audit Manager serves to manage client engagements, maintain client relationships, and act as a liaison between overseeing/mentoring internal staff and working closely with internal leaders, to ensure high-quality work is conducted and delivered to our clients.   WHAT YOU WILL DO Regular duties include (but are not limited to): - Perform and assist with audits, reviews and compilations for clients in various industries - Oversee and review financial statements and evaluate internal controls - Manage, Train, and Coach less experienced staff on work product throughout engagements - Assist with the coordination of the day-to-day duties of planning, fieldwork and wrap-up - Deep understanding of accounting and reporting standards - Develop reasonable time budgets and coordinate audit requests to meet time constraints and client deadlines - Interact with clients to help ensure the information flow from the client to the audit team is efficient - Communicate with Clients, Management, and Managing Directors on work status and client issues that arise   WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR   Experience - 5+ years in relevant position - Public accounting or other professional services environment preferred - Experience in municipal government and/or nonprofit is a plus, but not required  Education - Minimum Bachelor’s degree or other recognized business credential - Bachelor’s in Accounting License / Certification - Must be a CPA for Audit, Tax Accounting; Respective similar certification for IT audit, consulting - Must maintain required CPE credits annually - May need other industry or specialization certification for specific positions Legal / Compliance - Must complete acknowledgement of Independence Guidelines and Ethical Standards document - Government engagements require ability to obtain a security clearance from the United States government   WHO WE ARE   READY TO DELIVER We take pride in our ability to combine local knowledge with national, regional, and international skills to provide you and your organization with the best resources possible.
